At St William’s we firmly believe in bringing our curriculum to life and developing cultural capital through off site trips and by welcoming visitors into school. Each class goes on at least one trip per term and many visitors come into school to share their expertise with the children. We have strong links with our local community and many of our trips take place in the local area and around Bolton.
In order to implement the curriculum to the highest possible standard, part of our geography and PE curriculum is delivered at an outdoor pursuits center. This gives the children the opportunity to independently navigate using ordinance survey maps and have access to large, open woodland areas supported by highly skilled staff. Similarly with Design and Technology, year 6 are supported with their learning at the local Science and Technology Centre. This allows them access to equipment and resources they would not otherwise have access to.
