Uniform

At St. William’s we wear our school uniform with pride. We have one, flexible uniform that works for all seasons and there is an expectation that everyone will come to school looking smart and ready to learn. With the exception of our school jumpers/cardigans, all items of uniform can be purchased from any supermarket or uniform supplier.

We have a ‘nearly new’ uniform shop in school where you can buy second hand items of clothing for a small donation.

Children will need to have a full uniform and full PE kit. Following consultation with pupils, class councils and School Council  our school uniform consists of:

Girls:

• Plain white polo shirt
• Official school sweatshirt or cardigan – available from school or Smart Clothing.
• Plain grey school trousers, skirt or pinafore.
• Any headscarves should be plain black.

Boys: 

• Plain white polo shirt
• Official school sweatshirt
• Dark grey trousers – long or short

Footwear:

Flat black shoes should be worn as part of the uniform.  Boots, high-heeled shoes and trainers should not be worn.  If children come to school in unsuitable shoes, for health and safety reasons, they will be expected to wear their black PE pumps.

PE Kit

It is important for the safety of the children in Reception to 6 that they have suitable clothing.

They require:

Plain white T-shirt,  black shorts,  black pumps and trainers (for outdoor PE only)

Children playing football outside may require football boots but we do some spares in school.

If PE lessons are out of doors in cold weather children may wear tracksuits.

*Please remember to label all your child’s uniform.  It is very difficult to find misplaced items of clothing without identification.*
