Our Parent Partnership Leaders are Miss Harkin and Mrs Mohammad.

At St William’s, we are a happy and close community who work together for the benefit of all our children. Our parents play a key role in school life and we work hard to make positive and productive relationships with all our families and make our school a welcoming and supportive place for all.

In September 2024, we hosted a coffee morning to raise funds for the McMillan Cancer Reserach. With the help of our families we raised almost £200 – thank you!

Our Harvest Coffee Morning in September 2024 was as popular as ever. It was great to see so many members of our school community coming together to support our children in their performances and helping them to support out local community with your kind donations of food for our local food banks; the children took the bags and bags of your donations to Emmaus and we know they will put it to great use with local families in need.

CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING ASSEMBLIES

Every class invites parents in for a Catholic Social Teaching assembly, where the children share their learning of one of the Catholic Social Teaching principles  through reading, dance, songs and drama. It is great to be able to present these assemblies again after so long due to our RAAC remedial work!

CLASSROOM VISITS

At the start of every year, we invite our parents in for ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions. Every term, we welcome our families into school to have a look at our classrooms and books. The children love sharing their learning with their families and showing them around their classrooms.

EYFS WORKSHOPS

Throughout October, we have planned a series of EYFS workshops in school, focused on early reading and early maths.  The aim of the workshops is to support our parents and carers in developing their children’s basic maths and reading skills at home, in fun, creative and practical ways. We look forwards to welcoming our parents!

PPP

In the Autumn term, Kath from Behavior Support, will be hosting two weekly PPP courses in school. This is a parenting course that is broken down into short, weekly sessions and provides behavior strategies for children of all ages. The sessions will run from 9-10.30 on a Thursday morning or 1.30-3pm every Friday, starting Thursday 14th November. Feedback is always highly positive. Due to the popularity of the course, please make sure you book!

MATHS WORKSHOPS

In the Autumn term, Miss Adams led a series of maths workshops for parents. The sessions were split into three sessions; EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Feedback was highly positive and all the sessions were very well attended.

ORAL HYGIENE SESSIONS

In October, the oral health nurse came into school to work with the families of our youngest children on good oral hygiene and the prevention of early tooth decay. She ran teeth brushing workshops and supported families with access to dental care.  All the sessions were well attended and the children now brush their teeth as part of their daily routine in school.
