Welcome to Nursery at St William’s
At St William’s, we encourage children to join our nursery from the age of three. Nursery provides an exciting and nurturing environment where children can develop their confidence, independence and social skills while enjoying a wide range of learning experiences and activities.
Starting nursery before Reception helps children become familiar with the routines and systems of school, build relationships with familiar adults and develop friendships with other children. It also provides an excellent foundation for a happy and successful transition into Reception.
Our nursery offers a high-quality learning environment, with both indoor and outdoor opportunities for children to explore, play and learn.
Working in Partnership with Parents
We believe that working closely with families is an important part of your child’s nursery experience. Our staff are always happy to listen to any questions, worries or concerns you may have.
We encourage parents and carers to be actively involved in their child’s time at nursery and to work with us to support their child’s learning, development and wellbeing.
Nursery Funding and Sessions
All children are entitled to 15 hours of funded nursery provision from the term after their third birthday, subject to the relevant eligibility and funding arrangements.
Our morning session begins at 8:45am and finishes at 11:45am.
We also offer a limited number of additional paid nursery places, subject to availability. These provide an additional 17.5 hours per week at a cost of £105 per week.
30 Hours of Funded Childcare
We currently offer 30-hour funded places for eligible working parents, subject to eligibility and availability.
Further information about eligibility and applying for funded childcare can be found through the government’s Childcare Choices website.
Children accessing the full 30-hour provision will attend from 8:45am – 3:15pm. Parents are required to pay for an additional 30 minutes of nursery care each day, at a cost of £3 per day.
All children accessing 30 hours of funded provision stay for lunchtime.
Lunchtime and School Meals
Parents can choose whether their child has a school meal or brings a packed lunch from home.
School meals cost £2.75 per day (£13.75 per week).
