May, the month of Mary

We are finally in the month of May (though you would never think so, looking at the weather). As the flowers start to bloom, our thoughts turn to Our Lady in this special month we dedicate to her. When I was at school, we would crown the statue of Mary with a halo of fresh flowers whilst singing ‘Bring flowers of the rarest, bring blossoms the fairest’. The procession from school to church was something very special indeed.

We can’t get over to church at the moment but we will be creating our own tributes to Mary in our classrooms. We regularly devote the Hail Mary to those who are sick or in need of our prayers and this May, we will pray especially hard for all those affected by Coronavirus Pandemic.

Holy Mary, mother fair,
Filled with love for God,
Pray for us in all our needs.
