Consultation Afternoon/Evening
Yesterday, 94% of our families were represented at the progress meetings for parents and carers. It was so lovely to be able to spend time with you and I know the teachers welcomed the opportunity to meet with you face to face once again.
Day to day life in school is so busy. It is easy to get wrapped up the problems and the challenges and forget about the many wonderful things happening on a daily basis. So many of you made a special effort to come and tell me about how happy your child is in school and how grateful you are to our school staff. You told me how you were amazed by the amount of learning they were sharing at home and how eager they are to come to school each morning. I only wished the teachers and support staff could hear your comments – I will try and pass them all on. We are all very grateful for your appreciation and support.
This very day two years ago, I was closing our school for the foreseeable future – it was heartbreaking. One of the saddest things was the seeing our school community going our separate ways with no real knowledge of when we would be together again. Yesterday was another reminded of the power of strong home/school links and what we can achieve when we work together for the benefit of our children. We are fortunate to have such a supportive school community and we will never miss an opportunity to further engage you in school life.
