New Governor Visit
This morning I showed Lee Hobin around our school. Lee was appointed to our Governing Board as a Foundation Governor last October. Lee will join our Finance, Building and Personnel committee. He is a practising Catholic and has two daughters who attend a local Catholic Secondary School. We are delighted to have Lee on board and hope he can combine his professional financial background with his personal commitment to Catholic Education to serve for the best interest of our pupils.
As always, I am immensely proud to show anyone around our school. The lessons are diligently planned by our staff and the children respond with such enthusiasm. We never heard a raised voice and you could feel the learning going on around you in every room. Behaviour, as always, was impeccable and in each class we were greeted with happy, cheerful learners. I think I may have even persuaded him to join our Year 6 class on a trek to the top of Rivington Pike in June!
Today’s assembly provided an opportunity for me to remind the children about the importance of staying safe. We discussed who keeps us safe in school, how we stay safe online and who to go to if we don’t feel safe. A letter will go out to Key Stage 2 this week reminding parents that no child will be dismissed at the end of a school day until the teacher on duty can see that there is an adult there to collect them. Please support us by being a visual presence at the end of the school day, especially on these dark nights.
