Preparations Begin!
Today we have started to prepare our school building for the return of some our pupils on June 1st. We are suddenly seeing our building in a whole new light as we create a space that is as safe and functional as we can make it.
We want to couple the safety guidelines with creating a space that is secure, happy and familiar place for our pupils, They will have found this time at best strange, at worst scary. We are preparing to support all our children with not only their missed learning, but with their general health and well-being. We have lots of lovely activities planned to help them adjust to life back in school.
It will also be an opportunity for our Year 6 pupils to spend some precious last weeks together before they leave for the next stage on their journey. We are working closely with our secondary schools to make sure that transition is as smooth as it can be during these unusual times. Leavers events may look different this year but we are determined that they will happen.
There is no doubt that the decision to open schools has not been made lightly. I know some of you will feel reluctant or nervous about sending your child back to school and ultimately, it is your decision. Whilst I can’t make any promises about safety, I can promise that we will do our very best to make their time in school as happy and productive as we possibly can.
Please keep our school community in your prayers.
