STOP
In preparation for Mental Health Week, we have spent time reminding the children about the definition of the word bullying. We are very fortunate at St William’s that our school community wholeheartedly buys into our ‘zero tolerance’ approach to bullying. Bullying is not a word you will often hear being used because the children have a clear understanding that bullying is something quite different to the occasional fall outs we might have with friends. They know that issues happen, often on the playground and they must be dealt with within our ethos of love and forgiveness. However, we remind the children regularly that we are here to keep them safe and that any instances of bullying, whether at school or online, must be reported to a trusted adult.
Our clear definition of bullying is STOP: Several Times On Purpose
The children know that their response to bullying must be STOP: Start Telling Other People
The children never fail to respond to these discussions with honesty and maturity; they are fully committed to making St William’s a happy and welcoming place for everyone. As parents, you can rest assured that we take our responsibility for your child’s well-being very seriously and we will continue to promote positive relationships, healthy minds and a safe and secure school where every child can thrive.
