Voice 21

You may have heard our children talking about Voice 21 and wondered what they were talking about! This year we have officially become a Voice 21 school. At St William’s we have always encouraged our young people to use their voices for success. Working with Voice 21 gives us a formal and measurable structure to work within. We are already feeling the impact of our training in school. Our two ‘Oracy Champions’ (Miss Lally and Miss Isherwood) are keeping us up to date with all the latest techniques and strategies to help promote high quality communication, right across school.

Our work with Voice 21 is the key driver in our school development planning this year and is knitted into all areas of school life. We are looking forward to hearing the impact in the voices of our children in the classroom, on the corridors and in the playground.

This is the Missions Statement of Voice 21:

We’re on a mission to transform the learning and life chances of young people through talk so that all children can use their voice for success in school and in life. 

We exist to increase access to high-quality oracy education, particularly for those children that need it most. We achieve this by working in partnership with teachers and schools via our Voice 21 Oracy Schools membership.
