All Saints Day!
On Sunday we celebrated the feast of All Saints. We remember those who went before us making sacrifices for the sake of the faith and for the good of others. We talk all the time in school about how our actions and the choices we make, define us. It can be very difficult, particularly for our youngest pupils, to relate to the Saints who died so long ago, often in very unfamiliar circumstances. That’s why our new house point system is based around young people in today’s society, who are trying to make a difference in the world.
We have 4 houses with 4 key themes, charities and Saints
Jakhil Jackson – Homelessness – St Benedict Joseph Labre – Emmaus
Malala Yousafzai – Education – St John Bosco – Mary’s Meals
Greta Thunberg – Environment – St Francis of Assisi – CAFOD
Ryan Hreljac – Poverty – St Teresa of Calcutta – Caritas
The children are absolutely inspired by these role models and have been fascinated to learn about the modern day issues they represent.
