The Season of Remembrance

Two weeks ago, we celebrated the feast of All Souls. We thought about those who we have loved and lost and prayed for repose of the souls of all those who have died. Following the feast day, our thoughts soon turned to the poppies that had started to appear in shops and supermarkets. Once again, we thought about those who have died in conflict to protect our freedom and the importance of us honoring their sacrifice. Each class learnt a poem or song which they performed in assembly on Friday and the children reflected on the impact of war and conflict. We prayed for peace in our world; it feels like the world needs our prayers more than ever at the moment.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
